A USA Softball background check and SafeSport certification is required for any adult that will participate in Bonita Valley Girls USA Softball on-field activities. This is not just for games but for any on-field league or team activity, including practice, no matter where it is being held. This is especially needed for all Team Managers, Coaches, Team Moms and Parent volunteers.

Volunteering your time, and sharing your softball abilities through coaching and other teaching methods is a great way to support your children and your community. Bonita Valley Girls USA Softball is affiliated with the USA Softball which requires a background check and SafeSport certification on all league volunteers. To become a volunteer, please complete our process:

STEP 1:

Register online. Follow the "Registration Info" or "Volunteer" links in the tabs above and and select the "Volunteer Registration" link. Complete the on-line application.

STEP 2:

Once you have been officially registered with USA Softball, you will receive an e-mail with directions on completing the background check and Safe Sport training.  Once you receive the e-mail, you will have 72 hours to consent to the background check.  Safe Sport training will need to be completed within 7 days of receipt of the e-mail.     This e-mail will arrive in your in basket a few weeks after you register with BV Softball.  

**Note: The cost for an USA Softball Background Check and Insurance is $36.00. The league pays for 3 volunteers per team (for example Manager, Asst Coach, and Team Parent), all other volunteers are responsible for the $36 to be paid to Bonita Valley.
